Threads is connected with its own Threads login — not through the Meta account, even though both networks belong to the same company. Threads has its own application, its own permissions and its own token, so a connected Instagram is not enough here.
By invitation only for now. Until Meta approves our app, only an account on the tester list can connect Threads. The invitation has to be accepted directly in Threads (Settings → Account → Website permissions), it will not appear on Meta.
Procedure
- Settings → Publishing channels → for Threads click Connect.
- Sign in with your Threads account and confirm the permissions.
- Done — when you write a post, Threads will appear among the networks.
What Threads can do
- Plain text: Threads is the only connected network where a post can be published without a photo or a video.
- Length: 500 characters at most. THEIS will not send longer text and warns you about it in advance.
- Carousel: up to 20 items in a single post.
- Daily limit: 250 posts per profile per 24 hours.
Comments in the Inbox
Replies to your posts arrive in the Inbox and you can reply to them right from there. Hiding someone else's reply is possible too; the Threads API does not allow liking comments, so you will not find it in the Inbox for Threads.
Connection validity
The token is valid for 60 days and THEIS refreshes it itself in the background. You do not have to connect again.
